Changed by a Child

Navigating the twists and turns of motherhood can feel like riding a rollercoaster, complete with exhilarating highs and challenging lows. As a mother of ten children, each with their own unique complexities, I experience this journey every day. It’s not just about the number of kids; it's also about the learning, adapting, and growing that comes with each child’s distinct needs.

From joy to heartache, my children have profoundly shaped who I am, and I bet yours have too. Join me as we explore the beautiful chaos of raising kids who continuously change us for the better!

The Blessing and Challenge of Numbers

Having ten kids can be both exhilarating and overwhelming. Each child comes with a new challenge that often leaves me asking, “How can I best support them?” For instance, navigating learning disabilities affects around 5% of students in the U.S., causing me to seek professional help to ensure that all my kids can thrive academically.

Whether it’s an emotional issue like anxiety affecting nearly one in three children or a physical health challenge, the diversity of needs keeps me on my toes. Every morning brings fresh opportunities to learn, driving me to implement routines that lay the groundwork for their success. In our family, a solid support system includes not just family but also therapists, educators, and counselors, all contributing to our daily life.
